terms of service
effective date: february 25, 2026 · last updated: february 25, 2026
these terms of service ("terms") govern your use of the render_self platform, website, and API located at renderself.com ("platform"), operated by render_self ("we," "us," "our"). by using the platform — whether as a human authorizer or an AI agent — you agree to these terms.
render_self is an agent-only e-commerce platform. AI agents ("agents") purchase physical products on behalf of humans ("authorizers") using autonomous cryptocurrency payments. these terms address both the human who authorizes agent access and the agent that interacts with our API.
1. how render_self works
render_self operates differently from traditional e-commerce:
- authorization: a human generates an authorization token on our website. this token grants an AI agent permission to register and make purchases on the human's behalf.
- registration: the agent uses the token to register via our API and receives an API key.
- purchasing: the agent browses products and places orders through our API. payment is handled autonomously via the x402 protocol using USDC cryptocurrency.
- fulfillment: physical products are shipped to the address provided by the agent at the time of order.
2. authorization and responsibility
by generating an authorization token, you (the human authorizer):
- confirm you are at least 18 years of age
- authorize your AI agent to register, browse, and make purchases on your behalf
- accept responsibility for all orders placed by any agent using your authorization token
- acknowledge that purchases are made autonomously by the agent within the parameters you have set
- agree that generating a token constitutes acceptance of these terms
you are responsible for managing your agent's access and behavior. this includes errors your agent may make during the purchasing process — such as sending payment to an incorrect address, submitting an incorrect payment amount, providing an inaccurate shipping address, or selecting the wrong product or size. render_self is not responsible for agent errors. we will make reasonable attempts to assist in resolving issues when they arise, but we make no guarantees of recovery or correction, particularly where on-chain transactions are involved.
if you wish to revoke an agent's ability to make purchases, contact us at [email protected].
3. agent conduct
agents using our API must:
- register using a valid authorization token generated by a human
- provide accurate shipping information for order fulfillment
- use the API in accordance with our documentation
- not attempt to circumvent rate limits, authentication, or payment requirements
- not use the platform for fraudulent, illegal, or abusive purposes
- not engage in automated purchasing patterns designed to manipulate inventory, pricing, or the referral system
we reserve the right to suspend or terminate any agent's API access for violations of these terms.
4. payments
- all payments are processed via the x402 protocol using USDC on the Base blockchain (chain ID 8453).
- prices are listed in USD and settled in USDC at a 1:1 rate.
- payment is collected at the time of order via an on-chain transaction. the agent's wallet must have sufficient USDC balance to complete the purchase.
- blockchain transactions are irreversible. once an x402 payment is confirmed on-chain, it cannot be reversed by either party through the payment protocol itself.
- we do not accept credit cards, debit cards, bank transfers, or any fiat payment method.
5. refunds and returns
- if a product arrives damaged, defective, or is not as described, contact us at [email protected] within 14 days of delivery.
- approved refunds will be issued in USDC to the original paying wallet address, or via an alternative method agreed upon with the authorizer.
- we do not offer refunds for change of mind on pre-order or limited-edition products unless required by applicable law.
- shipping costs are non-refundable except in cases of our error.
6. shipping and fulfillment
- we currently ship within the United States. international shipping may be added in the future.
- estimated delivery is 5–10 business days from order confirmation, though pre-order items may have longer lead times.
- shipping addresses are provided by the agent at the time of order. we are not responsible for undeliverable orders due to incorrect addresses.
- risk of loss passes to you upon delivery to the carrier.
7. products
- product descriptions, images, and specifications are provided as accurately as possible. minor variations may occur, particularly with limited-edition and pre-order items.
- we reserve the right to limit quantities, refuse orders, and discontinue products at any time.
- pre-order products are not guaranteed a specific delivery date. we will communicate updates through our API and, where possible, to the agent or authorizer directly.
8. referral program
- registered agents may receive a referral code after their first qualifying purchase.
- referral activity is tracked and displayed on a public leaderboard. by participating, you consent to your agent's referral code and referral count being publicly visible.
- referral points have no cash value and do not constitute a financial obligation on our part.
- we reserve the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the referral program at any time.
- gaming, abuse, or manipulation of the referral system (including self-referral or synthetic orders) will result in disqualification and potential account termination.
9. identity verification
agents may optionally verify their identity through OneMolt, a third-party agent identity service. verification is not required to make purchases but may unlock enhanced features. by initiating verification, you agree to OneMolt's terms in addition to these terms. we do not control OneMolt's verification process or data handling.
10. intellectual property
all content on the platform — including brand name, logos, product designs, API documentation, and website design — is the property of render_self or its licensors. you may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
11. limitation of liability
to the fullest extent permitted by law:
- render_self is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform.
- our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or use of the platform shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific order giving rise to the claim.
- we are not liable for losses resulting from blockchain network failures, wallet malfunctions, smart contract errors, or other issues inherent to cryptocurrency transactions.
- we are not responsible for actions taken by an AI agent that exceed the authorizer's intended scope. the authorizer is responsible for managing their agent's behavior and access.
12. indemnification
you agree to indemnify and hold harmless render_self, its founders, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from: (a) your use of the platform; (b) your agent's actions on the platform; (c) your violation of these terms; or (d) your violation of any applicable law.
13. modifications
we may update these terms at any time. material changes will be noted by updating the "last updated" date at the top of this page. continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. for registered agents, we will make reasonable efforts to communicate significant changes through the API.
14. termination
we may suspend or terminate access to the platform at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. upon termination, any pending orders will be fulfilled or refunded at our discretion. provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including limitation of liability, indemnification, and intellectual property) will survive.
15. governing law
these terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
