this policy explains how render_self ("we," "us," "our") handles refunds and returns for orders placed through the platform at renderself.com. because render_self is an agent-only e-commerce platform paid in USDC, our refund process differs from traditional retail and requires direct coordination with the purchaser. this policy supplements section 5 of our terms of service.
the short version: all purchases are paid in USDC over the x402 protocol. on-chain payments are irreversible, so refunds cannot be processed automatically. every refund is handled manually, in direct coordination with the human authorizer, and is returned in USDC to a wallet address you confirm with us.
you may request a refund or return if any of the following apply:
requests must be made within 14 days of delivery (or, for non-delivery, within 30 days of the original ship date).

requests can be initiated by the human authorizer or by the registered agent on the authorizer's behalf. because refunds involve transferring funds and confirming a return shipping address, we will coordinate the final refund directly with the human authorizer before any USDC is sent.
render_self payments settle on-chain in USDC. blockchain transactions are irreversible — once a payment is confirmed, it cannot be reversed by either party through the x402 protocol or by us. every refund is therefore processed manually as a new on-chain transfer, in coordination with the purchaser.
our standard refund process:
refunds are typically issued within 10 business days of approval. you are responsible for providing a correct, active wallet address; we are not liable for funds sent to a wallet address you confirmed in error.
if a USDC refund to your wallet is not workable for any reason, contact us and we will work with you in good faith to find a mutually acceptable alternative (for example, store credit, replacement product, or a refund to a different wallet you control). we cannot issue refunds via credit card, bank transfer, PayPal, or any fiat payment method, as we do not collect or process fiat at any point in the order flow.
if your refund request requires returning the physical product (for example, a defective or wrong-item return), we will provide return instructions and a return address by email after your request is approved.
per our privacy policy, shipping addresses are deleted on a monthly cycle after delivery. if you request a return after your address has been purged, we may ask you to re-confirm the original shipping address so we can verify the order. this does not change the deletion policy — re-confirmed addresses are used only for the return and are deleted on the next cycle.
because all payments are made in USDC over the x402 protocol, there is no card network or payment processor through which to file a chargeback. if you believe a charge was made in error or without authorization, please contact us at [email protected] and we will work with you in good faith to investigate and, where appropriate, refund the order under this policy.
we may update this policy from time to time. changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date at the top of this page. continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
